Police have locked down a building where returnees from abroad are staying with their families.

A building at Tolarbagh area of Mirpur 1 was put into lockdown following the death of a coronavirus patient, a high official of Mirpur Zone police confirmed on Saturday (Mar 21).

As part of the lockdown, police are not allowing any of the residents to come out of the building, he said.

“The building was locked down as returnees from Canada and Japan are staying there,” said the official, adding that police officials were put on duty outside the building.

Locals said at least 30 families live in the building that is now under lockdown.
