Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman has submitted his resignation letter to the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).

In his resignation letter, submitted on Thursday (Feb 13), Barrister Sumon said he was unable to continue with the ICT as a prosecutor due to "his social and voluntary engagement".

“Considering the circumstances, I think it is not morally right to receive salary from the government. Therefore, I want to resign from this position,” he said in the letter.

Barrister Sumon joined ICT on Nov 13, 2012 as a prosecutor.

The High Court lawyer achieved much popularity through highlighting various social and awareness issues on social media site Facebook.
