99 Chhatra Dal activists secure anticipatory bail

Among the 99, the BNP's student body's President Fazlur Rahman Khokon and General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shamol also got anticipatory bail.
The bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Reaz Uddin Khan passed the order on Thursday (Feb 6).
The court has also granted an anticipatory bail for four weeks to Chhatra Dal Dhaka University (DU) unit Convener Md Rakibul Islam Rakib and Member Secretary Aman Ullah.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called for a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Dhaka on Feb, protesting against alleged massive vote frauds in the city corporation elections held on Feb 1.
Following the hartal, the BNP's student body carried out a demonstration at Dhaka University campus.
On Feb 3, a case was filed with Shahbagh police station against 120 named Chhatra Dal activists and 60-70 unknown others for vandalizing a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at the campus.
The Chhatra Dal leaders appeared before the court and asked for bail in this case, which the court accepted.
