Seven Wuhan returnees in hospital tested negative: IEDCR

Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) Director Dr Meerjadi Sabrina Flora answering at a media call.Seven persons who were on suspicion of possible exposure to coronavirus have been sent to Ashkona Hajj camp as their medical examination reports came out negative.

All of them came back with other 305 Bangladeshis, who were stranded in Wuhan on Saturday (Feb 1).

Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director at IEDCR, confirmed this matter to Bangla Tribune on Monday (Jan 3).

She said, “Meanwhile, one of the 304 Bangladeshi returnees from the coronavirus-hit Chinese city of Wuhan, who are now kept quarantined at the Hajj Camp, was admitted to the Kurmitola General Hospital with cough on Sunday (Jan 2) night.”

Of the returnees, 304 were kept quarantined in Ashkona Hajj camp where they would stay for 14 days under observation.

Seven Bangladeshi returnees were sent to Kurmitola General Hospital and another to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) directly from the airport as they had high body temperature.

The seven persons will now be kept quarantined in Ashkona Hajj camp.
