The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams have been rescheduled.
The school-leaving exams will start from Feb 3 instead of the previously scheduled Feb 1, education ministry's Public Relations Officer Md Abul Khayer told Bangla Tribune on Saturday (Jan 18).

The revised schedule will be published later in line with the ministry's order, Dhaka Education Board Chairman Ziaul Haque said,

The move came as the Election Commission rescheduled the Dhaka city polls to Feb 1 from Jan 30 following an emergency meeting since the previously announced voting day coincided with the Hindu festival of Saraswati Puja.

More than two million students are expected to take part in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Among the candidates, 1,024,363 are boys and 1,023,416 girls.

Of them, 1,635,240 candidates will sit for SSC examinations under nine general education boards, 281,254 for Dakhil exams under Madrasa Education Board, and 131,285 for vocational exams under Bangladesh Technical Education Board this year.

Besides, 342 students will take part in the examination from abroad.
