The High Court (HC) has suspended the appointment of 266 persons in Nilphamari and 403 persons in Borguna which was in breach of the primary school teacher appointment rule 2013.
A joint high court bench of justices Sheikh Hassan Arif and Md Mahmud Hassan Talukdar gave the order on Wednesday (Jan 15). At the court, the writ hearing was by advocate Rezaul Karim and barrister Babul Ahmed.
The court has also issued a rule asking why the declared result should not be cancelled. Secretary of the ministries of primary and mass education and public administration plus 10 others have been asked to respond to the ruling.
Clause 7 of the primary school teacher appointment says that of the posts, 60 percent are women, 20 percent are dependents and 20 percent will be filled by male candidates.
Advocate Rezaul Karim said, “In the declared result of 24 December, the law was not followed and so, asking for redress, 20 persons in Nilfamari and one in Borguna lodged a writ at court.”
