Dry weather likely

The northern, southern and south-western parts of the country would experience more cold waves during this period with no significant fall in temperature in Dhaka.Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted that weather may remain dry in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am Wednesday.

“Weather may remain dry with the temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country from midnight to tomorrow afternoon,” said a Met office bulletin issued on Wednesday (Jan 15) morning.

A mild cold wave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the regions of Rajshahi, Naogaon, Jashore, Chuadanga and Srimangal and it may continue, added the bulletin.

However, night and day temperature may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin said.

As an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that the night and day temperature may rise further.

The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 26.8 degree Celsius in Teknaf under Cox’s Bazar district while today’s lowest temperature is 7.5 degree Celsius at Tetulia under Rangpur district.
