63 DU students face expulsion for admission fraud

The decision was taken on Tuesday (Jan 14) at the disciplinary committee. The matter has been confirmed by university proctor and member secretary of the committee, Dr AKM Golam Rabbani.
He said: “Complaints were lodged against a total of 87 persons for leaking questions and recommendations have been made to permanently oust 63 persons. Nine persons were given temporary suspension earlier.”
In addition, decision has been taken to suspend 13 students for having links with hijacking and drugs and show cause notices have been issued asking why they should not be expelled for good.
Recommendations were made to permanently expel four persons arrested from Mohsin Hall with weapons.
Next steps on the issue will be taken at the university’s highest policy making forum.
