Cold wave sweeps over parts of Bangladesh

According to the one-month outlook report, Bangladesh may experience two or three mild to moderate cold waves near the end of January and two of them might turn in to intense cold waves.Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that mild to moderate cold wave in intensity is sweeping over the parts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the region of Chuadanga, may continue and spread.

“Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country which would be valid for the next twenty-four hours commencing from 9 am,” said a Met office bulletin issued on Saturday (Dec 28) morning.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning.

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin added.

The highest temperature on Friday (Dec 27) was recorded at 28.8 degree Celsius at Teknaf while today’s lowest temperature was 7.2 degree Celsius at Dinajpur.
