After infamous casino gang lord Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan was sent to prison, his empire is reportedly being controlled by ‘Italy Nasir’.
Nasir fled the country one decade ago with cases of murder and extortion.
Reportedly, he controlled the area with Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and Khaled. He is believed to have his group of cohorts and acolytes. Police say that probe is underway on many people who used to assist Khaled and Samrat in the casino business.
Commander of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 Shafiullah Bulbul, said: “We will take legal steps against anyone who engages in unlawful acts by remaining in or outside the country.”
It’s believed that Nasir grew up in Gopibagh and was involved in Phensidyl trade and was known as Fantu Nasir. After killing a Jubo League leader in 2000, he went into hiding. Arrested several times, he developed links with top terrors and came out of prison during the BNP rule.
He left the country in 2005 and settled in Italy.
His illegal operations in Gopibagh are assisted by ‘Shotgun Sohel’, Shipon and Selim.
At one point, he became close to casino kings, Samrat and Khaled. Currently, Nasir runs two bars in Italy. It’s believed that he is trying to capture the Gopibagh area with his henchmen.
