Tulip Siddiq bags victory in UK polls

Tulip SiddiqBangladesh-origin British lawmaker Tulip Siddiq has won the Hampstead and Kilburn constituency in the United Kingdom polls for the third time.
The granddaughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman won 28,080 votes against her competitor Conservative leader Johny Luke who won 13,892 votes.
A Britain Royal Society of Arts fellow, Tulip is the daughter of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sister Sheikh Rehana and economics professor Shafiq Siddiq.
She stepped into Labour politics at the age of 16 and won the Hamstead and Kilburn constituency in 2015. Before that she served as a Camden Counsellor.
