The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will hit the roads on Monday (Nov 18) to implement the road transport law. In this regard, mobile courts will be placed at several spots of the capital, said BRTA enforcement director AKM Masudur Rahman.
On Monday, he said: “To implement the law, we are heading towards Kakoli in Banani.”
Meanwhile, at a road safety discussion organized by Asian University of Bangladesh, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said: “Through the implementation of the new law, discipline will come back to the roads; the fines for breaches of road laws will be enforced in stages.”
The main aim is not to take more money as fines; when the fine is high, there is a tendency to follow rules, said the minister and added: “At the same time, efforts are needed to raise awareness about road discipline.”
