Colleagues bid final farewell to Bangla Tribune journo Monsur

Monsur AliBangla Tribune has bid farewell to its sub-editor Monsur Ali who was found dead in his home at Dhaka’s Banasree.

Monsur’s first funeral prayer was held at the Bangla Tribune premises in Panthopath after the Zuhr prayers on Sunday (Nov 17).

Bangla Tribune’s Editor Zulfiqer Russell, Executive Editor Harun-ur-Rashid along with his colleagues and friends attended the prayers.

The 33-year-old will be buried at the family graveyard in Fenchuganj’s Kotalpara in Sylhet.

On Saturday (Nov 16), police recovered Monsur’s body from his rented apartment in Banasree.

His flatmate said that he called 999 when he found the door of the apartment locked and didn’t receive any response from Monsur despite repeatedly ringing the bell and calling him.

After completing the autopsy, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Forensic Division Lecturer Dr Pradip Biswas said on Sunday that a heart attack is most likely to be the cause of death.

A journalism graduate from Chattogram University, Monsur started his career in 2013 with online newspaper, Orthoshuchok. He joined the Daily Ittefaq shortly after working in 'E-barta.com' and 'Techshahar'. He joined Bangla Tribune as a sub-editor in 2017.
