As many as 11 private television channels will start broadcasting soon, says Information Minister Hasan Mahmud.
The minister has disclosed the information while responding to a question from by Tangail-6 lawmaker Ahsanul Islam in parliament on Monday (Nov 11).
A total of 45 private television channels so far have been approved, said Hasan, adding that 30 of those channels are on the transmission with another four are yet to get the frequency.
According to the sources at ministry, the TV channels those awaits airing are Channel 21 owned by Abdullah Al Mamun, Utsab of Noor Mohammad, Rangdhanu of Mohammad Saiful Alam, Titas of Dhanad Islam Dipto, Citizen TV of Shafiqur Rahman, Prime TV of Tanzia Siraz, Spice TV of Sheela Islam and TV Today owned by Abul Bashar Mohammad Rakibul Baset.
