JSC, JDC exams rescheduled for cyclone Bulbul

NASHIRUL ISLAM/File PhotoThe Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations of Nov 9 (Saturday) have been rescheduled as the severe cyclonic storm 'Bulbul' is likely to hit parts of the country any time after Friday (Nov 8) night.
Professor Ziaul Haque, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the matter to Bangla Tribune.
The Mathematics examinations for JSC students and the test for JDS students will be held on Nov 12 (Tuesday) and Nov 14 (Thursday) respectively.
The JSC and JDC examinations began across the country, on Nov 2, with the participation of 2,661,682 students.
Severe cyclonic storm 'Bubul' was over east-central bay and adjoining area, moved north-northwestwards over the same area and was centred in Friday evening about 620km south-southwest of Chattogram port, 585km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 495km south of Mongla port and 490 km south of Payra port, Met Office said in special weather bulletin on Friday evening.
The Met Office also asked maritime ports of Mongla and Payra to hoist danger signal number seven, and ports of Chattogram to hoist danger signal number six.
The maritime port of Cox’s Bazar has been advised to keep hoisting local warning signal number four, the bulletin said.
