The acting vice-chancellor (VC) of private Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology in Dhaka, Prof Dr Kazi Shariful Alam, has stepped down in the face of students' demonstration.
Acting treasurer Prof Dr Md Amanullah will carry out the duty of the VC till a new VC is appointed, said press statement on Thursday (Oct 31).
Students of the university had been staging demonstration protesting against Shariful's misuse of power as well as pressing their several points of demands.
The demands put forth by the students would be considered after the appointment of a regular VC, the press statement added.
