A college student was killed reportedly by stalkers in Dhaka for protesting at their stalking of his friend.
The incident occurred around 8pm on Tuesday (Oct 29) at Rayerbazar Dhal area in the capital’s Hazaribagh.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Ariful Islam Sajal, was a 'twelfth-grader' of Mohammadpur Government College.
Sajal was brought to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 9pm where the doctor declared him dead, said in-charge of police outpost at the hospital Inspector Bachchu Miah.
The body was kept at the hospital for autopsy, added Inspector Miah.
Sanzida Akhter Dolon, the victim’s friend, said, they went to Rayer Bazar area in the evening and suddenly some youths started stalking her. As Ariful protested at the incident, she said, 10-12 local youths joined the stalkers and started beating him with bamboo sticks.
