The High Court has granted six-month bail to BNP leader Md Harunur Rashid in a graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
It also froze the Tk 5 million fine by the trial court after the lawmaker challenged the verdict, which sentenced him to five years in jail.
On Oct 21, a Dhaka court found him guilty in a 2007 case filed by the ACC on charges evading taxes by abusing the MPs’ duty-free car import facilities.
On Monday (Oct 28), the BNP leader filed a petition challenging the verdict.
