ACC sues Lokman, Salim

File photo shows Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan & Salim ProdhanThe Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started cases against Mohammedan Sporting Club’s Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan and Salim Prodhan, the alleged online casino kingpin of Bangladesh.
The graft watchdog’s Dhaka district offices filed two separate cases on Sunday (Oct 27), said ACC Assistant Director (Public Relations) Pronob Kumar Bhattacharya.
According to ACC, Lokman, who also serves as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, allegedly amassed wealth worth about Tk43 million beyond known sources of income.
He was arrested from his home at the capital’s Tejgaon on Sep 25.
Salim Prodhan was arrested from airport while he reportedly tried to escape abroad on Sep 30.
According to police and the ACC, Salim siphoned off money earned from illegal casino businesses to abroad.
