Singapore Airlines has been voted as World’s Best Airline in the Skytrax awards.
The prestigious Skytrax award is dubbed as the “Oscars of the aviation industry”, according to the media reports.
The 2018 World Airline Awards were announced in a gala ceremony at the iconic Langham Hotel in London on Jul 17
Top airline leaders and management from across the globe were present on the occasion.
Skytrax congratulated Singapore Airlines on its continues achievement.
On its website, Skytrax wrote, “We congratulate Singapore Airlines on this fabulous achievement, being voted the World’s Best Airline by customers for the fourth time in the award's history.”
The Asian aviation industries clinched the nine places in the top ten in this year; only the Lufthansa, a German airline could able to secure seventh place.
The World’s Top 10 Airlines of 2018 are:
1. Singapore Airlines, 2. Qatar Airways, 3. ANA All Nippon Airways, 4. Emirates, 5. EVA Air, 6. Cathay Pacific, 7. Lufthansa, 8. Hainan Airlines, 9. Garuda Indonesia, 10. Thai Airways.
The World Airline Awards are based on direct feedback from customers.
Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the survey with 20.36 million eligible entries counted in the results.
The World Airline Awards are independent and impartial, introduced in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that was truly global.
