The court in Dhaka has placed Ansar Al Islam member Sheikh Abdullah on four-day remand in a case filed over the murder of USAID official Xulhas Mannan and his friend Tanay in Kalabagan in 2016.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan passed the order Wednesday.
The investigation officer sought 10-day remand but after the hearing, the court gave four-day remand.
Earlier, Dhaka Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit arrested Abdullah from Chattogram on Tuesday.
Xulhas and Tanay were hacked to death on Apr 25, 2016 when a group of assailants entered his Lake Circus residence.
Xulhas’ brother Minhaz Mannan Emon filed a case with Kalabagan police station the next day.
