Coaching centres across the country will remain closed from Oct 25 to Nov 15 for Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) exams.
A decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of the Law and Order Affairs National Committee, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni told reporters on Sunday (Oct 13).
The exams will begin on Nov 2, and continue till Nov 11.
The direction to keep the coaching centers closed during the period was taken so that the exams could be given in a satisfactory manner.
The minister said: “We must be careful about coaching centres as they do care and for that those should remain closed during exams.”
“Teachers force students to go to coaching centres instead of teaching at schools, which is a profitable business as well, but there are many students who cannot afford private coaching,” she said.
“Some government teachers provide private tuitions, we will take action against them. For those who are non Monthly Pay Order (MPO) and non MPO listed teachers, directives can be issued through governing bodies of the concerned institutions,” added the minister.
