Smoke engulfed the immigration area of the Dhaka airport after a fire was reported.
The incident happened at the departure of the airport’s Terminal-1 on Sunday evening.
The airport authorities, however, said no fire erupted.
Airport Director Group Captain Abduallah Al Faruk told Bangla Tribune, “Smoke began to spread, but we immediately reported the fire service.”
“We are trying to find what caused the smoke and operation at the airport is normal now,” said Faruk.
Seven fire-fighting units rushed to the airport, Fires Service headquarters control room officer Atikur Rahman told Bangla Tribune.
