Once the PMO gives approval, the education ministry will give directives for MPO inclusion.
Additional secretary of the ministry of education’s secondary and higher secondary division, Jabed Ahmed, says: “A gist will soon be sent to the PM’s office.”
Education ministry sources say that a list for MPO including names of 1,763 schools and colleges were sent to the PM’s office on Aug 8 last.
On Aug 28, the PM’s office wanted to know the criteria for making the list and asked for certain errors to be corrected.
It’s known that number of students, age of the academic recognition of an institution, pass rate and number of students taking part in public exams were taken into consideration in making the MPO.
Meanwhile, a list of around 1,000 madrasas has been made to include in the MPO. Earlier, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said: “Around 2,500 schools, colleges and madrasas will be included in the MPO.”
Non-government education institutes were included in MPO in 2010.
