Hospitals take in 619 dengue patients in 24 hours

BANGLA TRIBUNEA total of 619 people diagnosed with dengue have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh in the 24 hours until Sunday morning.
Of them, 163 patients were admitted in Dhaka and 456 in districts outside Dhaka.
Dengue, a mosquito-borne virus, spreads among humans through its carrier, the Aedes mosquito.
The Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said in a statement on Sunday, said the number of patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in the country was 2,546.
A total of 60 dengue patients have died across Bangladesh from Jan 1 to Sept 15, according to their own collected data. However, the unofficial death toll is reported to be over 155, so far.
As many as 1,033 patients are currently receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka, whereas 1,513 people are undergoing treatment outside Dhaka, the DGHS data said.
Between Jan 1 and Sept 15, a total of 81,186 people have been affected by dengue.
Among those admitted, a total of 78,437 have been released from their respective hospitals and clinics after treatment.
