Three Ansarullah Bangla Team operatives remanded

courtA court in Dhaka has remanded three members of banned militant outfit Ansarulla Bangla Team (ABT) for three days in a case filed under the Anti Terrorism Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begun Yasmin handed the order after police produced them in it on Tuesday (Sept 10) seeking 10 days in remand.
Those who were granted remand are Russell Hossain, 25 a student of Rajshahi National Institute of Engineering Technology from Pabna, Jewel Mahmood alias Imam Mahmood (25) from Natore and Abu Jafar Sohail, 36, from Dhaka's Sipahibagh.
Earlier on Monday (Sept 9), tipped-off, a team of police's Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) arrested the trio from the capital's Uttara area, ATU spokesperson SP Md Mahiduzzaman said.
Police also seized jihadists books, six mobile phone sets, SIM cards, and ATM cards from their possession.
Later in the night, ATU Inspector Harun Ur Rashid sued them in the Uttara West police on several charges including that of financing militancy and carrying out sabotages.
During initial interrogation, the ABT members admitted that they were active members of social media-based closed groups "Imam Mahmud" and "Gazwatul Hind", police said.
They had long been collecting funds and running campaign for long amid at carrying out armed struggle to topple the government.
On Monday, they gathered to carry out subversive acts during the Ashura, police said.
