The Dhaka University syndicate on Thursday (Aug 29) approved its disciplinary board’s recommendation of suspending 69 students for their involvement in question leaks.

Several syndicate members confirmed this to Bangla Tribune of the decision taken at the disciplinary board meeting, held last evening.

The university authorities will also serve a show-cause notice to each of the accused students, If they fail to respond to the notice within the next seven working days, they will be expelled.

The varsity authorities took the decision in its syndicate meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor M Akhtaruzzaman.

Earlier in June, the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of police pressed charges against 125 people, including 87 students of Dhaka University for their involvement in forgeries, including those of admission tests.

On Aug 6, the DU authorities temporarily suspended these 69 students.
