Anti-mosquito drive: Six house owners fined in Dhaka

DSCC conducts anti-mosquito drives in Dhaka on Thursday (Aug 22).Dhaka South City Corporation has fined six house owners in Dhaka Tk 44,000 for finding larvae of Aedes mosquito during anti-mosquito drives.

DSCC fined the house owners during three mobile courts conducted at 118 houses in Dhaka on Thursday (Aug 22), said a media release issued by the Public Relations Office of DSCC.

According to the release, city corporation officials fined four houses for finding presence of Aedes larvae there and two others for their unclean and dirty environment.

A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Jahid Hasan conducted drives at 20 houses at Fakirapool and K M Das Lane. The court fined the owner of an under-construction house at Fakirapool Tk 10,000 for finding Aedes larvae there.

A second mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Mizanur Rahman conducted drives at 32 houses in Boro Moghbazar Wireless area. The court fined the owner of a house at Hazaribagh Tk 25,000 on finding Aedes larvae breeding in unused tires on its rooftop.

A third court led by Executive Magistrate Babar Ali inspected 30 houses in Sher-E-Bangla area of Hazaribagh and its neighbouring areas. Two houses at K M Das Lane were fined Tk 5,000 for finding suitable Aedes larvae breeding grounds there and two houses at Abhoy Das Lane were fined Tk 4,000 for their dirty and unclean environment.
