DSCC awards tax-payers with mosquito repellents

Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the program to award the hampers at the Dhaka South Nagar Bhaban on Saturday (Aug 10).
“With the stringent drives conducted by the city corporations, the dengue situations will be under control by the first week of September,” the mayor said.
He said that since Jul 1, the DSCC conducted raids in nearly 26,000 houses and destroyed Aedes mosquito larvae in 823 of them.
Scouts have destroyed mosquito larvae in over 62,000 homes after inspecting nearly 11,000 buildings and fined 95 owners, according to the mayor.
He urged everyone to be more conscious, and keep their surroundings clean so that the Aedes mosquitoes cannot breed.
“The citizens have already become more conscious than before,” he said and added that the government agencies were also lending their support in time of the dengue support.
