The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit has arrested five alleged extremists of Neo JMB’s ‘Wolf Pack’ in the Bashundhara Residential Area of Dhaka.
Two of the arrested are students of North South University.

The police claimed that they had been able to foil an attack on them planned by the alleged extremists.

The ‘Wolf Pack’ was a self-radicalised sleeper cell-like structure that had been planning to operate in small groups in an effort to take Global Jihad forward, said a CTTC source.

A media brief will take place at 11:00 am to be attended by DMP Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam where further details about the arrest would be given, said Dhaka metro police’s Deputy Commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman.
