Mid-day meals at madrasas: tiffin as incentive

Following the order, all the educational institutions under the Madrasa Education Division were asked start the mid-day meal project on Jun 25.After primary and secondary levels, mid-day meal is being introduced at all madrasas, an order has been issued in this regard from the technical and madrasa education department of the ministry of education.
Speaking on the matter, additional secretary (madrasa) of technical and madrasa education division told Bangla Tribune: “at the order of the PM, all madrasas have been asked to provide mid-day meal at their own cost.”
If the children get tiffin then they will be more attentive to education, he added.
DG of madrasa education division, Md Billal Hossain, told Bangla Tribune: “at present, madrasas will bear the cost; we hope to get some support and are thinking of taking some projects.”
Almost all primary schools in Bangladesh have mid-day meals.
The premier instructed to accelerate the mid-day meal project through an order on Jun 4.
The director general to the Directorate of Madrasa education was instructed to take necessary steps in the order.
Following the order, all the educational institutions under the Madrasa Education Division were asked to start the mid-day meal project on Jun 25.
Referring to the issue, the Deputy Director (Admin) of Madrasa Education Division Md Saiful Islam told Bangla Tribune that all the institutions are instructed to deliver nutritious food for the lunch.
“The project will start soon”, he added.
