A yellow taxi cab has fallen into the Turag river near Salehpur bridge of Aminbazar on the Dhaka-Aricha highway.
Witnesses said the taxi cab lost control when it tried to overtake a passenger bus on the highway and jumped into the river at 8:30pm Sunday (Jul 21).
It is believed that the cab was carrying two to three passengers during the accident.
Later, locals called 999 and called in the fire service to rescue the victims.
On information, a team of divers and four units from the Fire Service and Civil Defense arrived at the scene and began the rescue operation, Fire Service Zone Commander (Uttara) Anwarul Haque told Bangla Tribune.
