Khandaker Enamul BasirThe Anti Corruption Commission has launched a manhunt for its suspended director Khandaker Enamul Basir after he skipped quizzing on bribery allegations in relation to suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman, for the third time.
An ACC team lead a raid at his home in Shahjahanpur on Tuesday (Jul 16), confirmed his counsel Kamal Hossain.
He added that they also searched Basir’s sister’s home in the same area to no avail.
According to Hossain, he is ill and undergoing treatment but he couldn’t disclose where.
The graft watch-dog started a case against Basir on Tuesday (Jul 16) for receiving bribes from suspended DIG Mizan in exchange of giving him a clean chit in an ongoing probe.
Basir, however, has repeatedly denied the allegations saying that it was a conspiracy to frame him.
ACC officials said that Basir has skipped interrogation for the third time and he will now be arrested to answer questions.
