Chairman of the department of pharmacy raised questions about his research and the matter was also discussed in parliament.

He has talked of being pressured by several sections but added that if he got funds from the ministry of education then he will carry on the research.

Professor Faroque carried out two tests on Jun 25 and Jul 13 respectively and, in a press conference said that he found a variety of antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin, Azithromycin in milk by Milk Vita, Aarong, Farm Fresh, Igloo and Igloo mango milk.

He also claimed to have found detergent and formalin in samples of non-pasteurized milk.

He said that packet milk contained a lot of antibiotics.

On Sunday (Jul 13), professor Faroque sent his research findings along with details to the safe food authority.

“The research was done with grants from the ministry of education; if I get more funds then the work will continue, otherwise, another source of funding has to be found.”
