Saiful Islam, the prime accused in the killing of Md. Hanif Sheikh, khadem of the Azimpur mosque, has been arrested by the police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) late on Monday (Jul 8), conformed PBI’s special superintendent of police, Abul Kalam Azad.
On Wednesday (Jul 3), police recovered the body of Hanif Sheikh from a sack in a room of the mosque near the Azimpur graveyard.
Earlier, Lalbagh police Inspector Helal Uddin said: “The killer is known to Abul Kalam Azad, khadem of New Market mosque; after killing Hanif, he phoned him to conceal the dead body.”
Abul Kalam Azad has admitted this to the police.
