A eight-year old girl has reportedly been raped at a hospital in Dhaka.
The incident occurred at Gonoshastha Nagar Hospital in Dhanmondi area on Thursday (Jul 5) evening, said police.
After primary investigation, police have detained the alleged rapist, Md Rayhan, 18.
“The alleged rapist Rayhan works as a canteen boy in the hospital. The victim came in the hospital with her mother, who also works as a nurse at the hospital. In the evening, the Rayhan laured the child with a chocolate and raped after taking her at a toilet of the hospital ” Dhanmondi police Sub-Inspector Mosharrof Hossain told Bangla Tribune.
“Following the incident, hospital authorities caught Rayhan and handed him over to police, he said.
“The victim has been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for treatment and further examination,” said Hossain before adding, “Legal action will be taken against the accused.”
