Police have taken suspended deputy inspector general Mizanur Rahman into custody on Monday (Jul 1).
The police move follows an order by the High Court (HC) after as rejected Mizan’s appeal for anticipatory bail on graft charges.
Mizan has “totally tarnished the image of the police”, the court said during the hearing.
Later, forces Dhaka’s Shahbagh police came to the HC to execute the court order.
Following the official procedures, police took away Mizan in a car from the court premises to Shahbagh police station.
