Three people have been killed as a truck hit a pickup in Meherbari of Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh district.

The deceased were identified as Taher Mia, 45, Bablu Mia, 30, and Taijuddin (35).

Officer-in-charge of Bhaluka police station Mainuddin said the accident took place when the driver of Dhaka-bound loaded truck lost control over the steering and hit the fish loaded pickup around 6:00 am on Monday, leaving three persons dead on the spot.

Bhaluka Highway police recovered the bodies from the scene. Following the incident, police seized the truck; however, the truck driver fled the scene.
