BNP Chairperson Khaleda ZiaThe Supreme Court (SC) will pass an order on Tuesday on a leave-to-appeal petition filed by the government challenging the High Court (HC) order that granted bail to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a sabotage lodged in Comilla.
The appeal bench headed by the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain fixed the date for passing the order after holding the hearing on the leave-to-appeal petition on Monday.
Advocate Khandakar Mahbub Hossain and AJ Mohammad Ali moved for Khaleda Zia while Attorney General Mahbube Alam stood for the state.
Earlier on May 28, the High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice JBM Hasan granted bail for six months to Khaleda in two Cumilla cases.
Later, following two stay petitions filed by the government, the chamber judge on May 29 stayed the HC order of bail and sent the stay petitions to its full bench for their hearing on May 31.
