Five injured in Jatrabari clash

Five people, including two children have been injured in a clash that ended in a gunfight between two groups at Jatrabari.
The incident was reported on Saturday (Jun 22) from Jatrabari’s Matuail Ruposhi Garments area, said police.
The injured are: Jahidul Islam Enayet, 30, Hafizul Islam, 24, his wife Shathi, 24, daughter Abida, 6 and nephew Junayed, 4.
They are all undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and one of them is critically injured.
The police are primarily suspecting the injuries to be shotgun wounds and according to the locals, the clash ensued regarding the control of a local club.
“We went to the scene when we received news of a gunfight between two groups,” said Jatrabari police Sub-Inspector Nirban Kumar Agarwal.
He added that they couldn’t find anyone there when they reached the scene and they were now trying to get more information from those in the hospital.
