No dropping off or picking up passengers indiscriminately: HC

The court also ordered dope tests for drivers and said that horns can only be used by ambulance and fire service in front of schools and colleges.
A joint bench of justices JBM. Hassan and Md Khairul Alam gave the order while giving the compensation verdict for the killing of Titumir College student, Rajiv Ahmed on Thursday (Jun 20).
At that time, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority, BRTA, was represented by Mohammad Moniruzzaman while Deputy Attorney General Motahar Hossain Raju was for the state.
Calling the verdict a milestone, barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kajal, said: “The court has ordered the immediate implementation of the verdict. When this happens, discipline will return to the roads.
The high court today gave a verdict awarding Tk 5 million to the brothers of Rajiv.
The BRTC has been ordered to pay Tk 2.5 million to the relatives of Rajiv in the next two months.
