“They have turned into a sectarian force by attacking an iftar gathering during the holy month of Ramadan,” he said while speaking to the media on Wednesday (May 29) about the recent attack on him by BCL activists in Bogura.
He said that he took police permission to attend the iftar party organised by Shadharan Chhattra Odhikar Shongrokkhon at Bogura on Sunday (May 26).
He added that he, along with those accompanying him were attacked when he was talking to a library personnel.
Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) Vice President Nurul Hoque Nur speaking to the media on Wednesday (May 29) about the recent attack on him by BCL activists in Bogura.“I just want to say one thing. Chhatra League is an organisation that was built by Bangabandhu [Sheikh Mujibur Rahman]. By attacking an iftar they have turned into a communal force,” he said.
“The attack was premeditated. Ever since I’ve been elected the DUCSU VP there have been attempts on my life by BCL,” he alleged.
Nur said that he had been offered a top post in BCL and he is being repeatedly attacked as he declined.
“I have reservations about my safety,” he said and demanded justice for the attacks carried out on him.
