Citing the security has been beefed up, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Asaduzzaman Miah has said no specific incident of mugging, extortion, and dope (molom) party takes place across the city ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
“Police’s detectives have been tracing the criminals over the past two months and kept them chasing. Police have already arrested many of them,” he said on Friday (May 24).
The DMP chief made the remarks after distributing cloths to a group of street children at a programme organized by a non-profit organization ‘Mojar School’ at the city’s Kamlapur railway station.
Asaduzzaman Mian said that adequate security measures have been ensured across the city including bus, launch and train stations.
“Adequate surveillance will be taken to tackle theft and robbery in Dhaka during Eid holiday,” he said.
