The government has appointed Additional Inspector General of Police Mohammad Shafiqul Islam as the new chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The home ministry issued the official order on the reshuffle on Thursday (May 16), which also transferred three deputy inspectors general (DIGs) of an additional IGP.

Chief of River Police DIG Mohammad Maruf Hasan has been transferred to the Police Staff College as its rector.

Dhaka Range’s DIG Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has been posted to headquarters.

DIG Mahbubur Rahman of the headquarters will now head the Highway Police.

In a separate order, DIG Tawfiq Mahbub Chowdhury of Special Branch (SB) has been transferred to the headquarters while DIG Habibur Rahman has been appointed to head the Dhaka Range.
