The Biman Bangladesh aircraft crashing at Myanmar’s Yangon was an accident caused by bad weather, said State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali.
“Nevertheless, a probe committee has been formed and we are still waiting on their report,” he told the media after visiting the 10 injured people who were brought back to Dhaka on Friday (May 10).
A special flight brought back two pilots, two cabin crews, two ground engineers and four passengers who were injured after Biman’s Bombardier Dash 8 skidded off the runway as it landed amid bad weather at the largest city in Myanmar on Wednesday (May 8).
The minister added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had been monitoring the incident from London.
“Three of the people have been taken to Apollo Hospital for advanced treatment. One of them chose to go to a hospital he owns,” Ali said.
“I spoke to the passengers. They have no complaints,” he added.
Responding to queries about whether the aircraft can be used again, he said that this depends on the probe report.
