HC decision on compensation for Rajib’s death May 15

Rajib Hossain, who had lost an arm in a race between two buses in Dhaka on Apr 3, died of the severe head injuries sustained in the accident on Apr 17.The High Court has set May 15 for its verdict on a rule over Tk 10 million in compensation to the family of Rajib Hossain, who died after losing his hand that got stuck between two buses in the Dhaka last year.
The HC bench of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice MD Khairul Alam set the date after concluding hearing on the rule on Wednesday (May 8).
On Apr 3, 2018, the third-year student of Government Titumir College lost his right hand after it got stuck between two speeding buses of BRTC and Sajan Paribahan, which were trying to overtake each other in Bangla Motor area in Dhaka.
Rajib died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Apr 17, after two weeks in coma.
On May 8, HC ordered the bus companies to pay Tk 10 million to Rajib's family as compensation. BRTC and Sajan Paribahan challenged the HC order.
