A devastating fire burnt at least five buses at a Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus depot in the capital.

The fire erupted approximately at 1:30am Saturday at Nikunja area under Khilkhet police station, burning down five double-decker buses.

After frantic efforts of one hour, four units of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence succeeded in dousing the fire around 3am.

Ataur Rahman, duty officer at fire services control room, told the Bangla Tribune: “The fire gutted five double-decker buses along with a discarded bus. The cause of fire has not been known yet.”
