Tk 4.3 million has been reported stolen from Jatiya Party’s Banani offices.
However, police have started an investigation.
“We have visited the scene. The main gate of the offices was locked whether the locker was found unlocked,” said Banani police Sub-Inspector Mokhlechur Rahman on Tuesday (Apr 30) morning.
“We have come to know that two security guards were in present last night and they are being interrogated,” said Rahman before adding, “No formal complaint has been filed over the incident by the party yet.
The party chief HM Ershad’s Deputy Press Secretary Khandaker Delwar Jalali told Bangla Tribune, “Jatiya Party chairman’s Personal Assistant Jahangir Hossain administrates the offices. He operates the financial matters of the offices. The locker is situated at his office room from where Tk 4.3 million has been stolen.”
“We assume that the money was stolen anytime last night,” he said, before adding, “A case will be lodged over the incident soon.”
