Journalist Mahfuz Ullah laid to rest

Senior journalist Mahfuz Ullah has been laid to rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard.
Family members, relatives, friends and colleagues buried him at the graveyard in the city around 7pm on Sunday (Apr 28).
Mahfuz, who had been on life support at a Bangkok hospital, died on Saturday (Apr 27) at the age of 69.
A flight of Thai Airways carrying his body reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 12:42am Sunday.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayers at Dormitory Jame Mosque in Green Road.
His body was brought to the National Press Club around 4:15pm and his second janaza was held there at 5:20pm.Later, his colleagues, political leaders and representatives of different organisations paid homage to Mahfuz by placing wreaths on his coffin.
Mahfuz’s son, Mostafa Habib Antu, said they will arrange a milad mahfil at the press club after Asr prayers on May 1 to seek divine blessings for his father's departed soul.
