Nearly 500 birds rescued in Savar

Forest Department has rescued as many as 471 birds from Savar, outskirt of capital Dhaka, and released them.
A team of Forest Department’s Wildlife Crime Control Unit conducted raid at Savar’s Zirabo area on Saturday (Apr 13) and rescued the birds, unit’s Director Mihir Kumar De told Bangla Tribune.
Of the rescued birds, 447 were munia, 21 parrots and three were spotted dove, said unit’s Inspector Asim Kumar Mollik.
Later, theses birds were released at at National Botanical Garden in Dhaka's Mirpur, Mollik added.
